Nek Chand Memorial Club

Nek Chand Memorial Club of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College is dedicated to modify and beautify the campus which it had been doing since 2015. It thrives to teach the students to recycle, reuse and re-invent. They get to know how the environment can be preserved by making use of waste material. The club plays a pivotal role in building a pure, colourful and green environment.

Objectives

  • To encourage the students to keep their environment clean and green.
  • To foster the practice of water management by avoiding the wastage of water.
  • To ensure cleanliness in and around the college.
  • To help the students in spreading the message of conservation of environment.

Activities initiated by Club from 2015-2020 :

2015-2016: 

The concept of Best out of Waste

2016-2017:

  • Using waste Tyres as pots and vase
  • Waste plastic bottles were collected from all the students and teaching and non-teaching faculty members to turn those into beautiful flower-vase
2017-2018:
  • New block in the campus was constructed.
  • So the waste Iron rodes were used to make flower-vase stands
2018-2019:
  • Benches for the students were upgraded
  • So old wooden benches were used to prepare flower-vase stands

2019-2020:

Old and rusty Iron drums were installed in the campus as dustbins
