The programme was organised by the Career Counselling Centre in our college.
04 18 April 2017 Foundation stone of New Building of Gurdwara Sahib In the Centenary Year (1917-2017), today in Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana Hon'ble Sant Baba Iqbal Singh Ji (Baru Sahib Wale) , Giani Harpal Singh Ji (Fatehgarh Sahib), Giani Gurmeet Singh (Dukhniwaran Sahib, Ludhiana), Giani NIrmal Singh (Kalgidhar Gurdwara Ludhiana) and Giani Balwinder Singh (Alamgir Sahib Ludhiana) laid the foundation stone of New Building of Gurdwara Sahib in the college campus. 100 Years ago, Sant Baba Atar Singh Ji and Principal Teja Singh Ji laid the foundation of our college in Gujranwala (Pakistan). It is a humble attempt to divinise the college campus with an objective to ensure the academic and moral development of our students.
05 27 July 2017 Tree Plantation Drive Today on the occasion of Centenary Celebrations of GGN Khalsa College, Ludhiana (1917-2017), the Campus Beautification Committee, Bhai Kanahiya Sewa Society, Bhagat Puran Singh Eco Club and Nek Chand Memorial Club have organised the "Tree Plantation Drive" to commemorate the completion of 100 Glourious Years by planting 100 tree in college campus. Padam Shri Baba Seva Singh Ji (Khadoor Sahib Wale) presided over the function. Padam Shri Dr. Surjit Patar, Dr. Gurbhajan Singh Gill, Tarlochan Lochi and S. Jagtar Singh, Additional Commissioner Income Tax, Ludhiana have graced the occasion.
06 10 September 2017 Books Exhibition  Books Exhibition is organised in Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana in collaboration with the 'Jan Chetna' (a NGO) to inspire the students to read the books to develop their personality and to enhance their literary taste and knowledge.
07 15 September 2017  Exhibition of "Old Sikh Manuscripts, Old Coins and Traditional Weapons Today in Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle Unit of GGN Khalsa College and Sant Teja Singh Library have organised the Exhibition of "Old Sikh Manuscripts, Old Coins and Traditional Weapons" in collaboration with S. Narinder Singh Ji.
S. Pritpal Singh, President Dukhniwaran Sahib, Ludhiana inaugurated the exhibition. Dr. S. P. Singh, former VC, GNDU, Amritsar, S. G. S. Narula and members of College Managing Committee also participated in this function.
S. Jasbir Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (HQ), Ludhiana also graced the occasion with his kind presence.
The prime objective of this exhibition is to create the awareness among students about Glourious Sikh Heritage and to motivate the students to follow the Sikh traditions and values as laid down by the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
08 7 November 2017 construction of the New Gurdwara building Under the able guidance of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council the construction of the New Gurdwara building is started in Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana to commemorate the completion of 100 Glourious Years of our College. It's foundation stone was laid by Sant Baba Iqbal Singh Ji (Baru Sahib Wale) in April 2017
09 20 December 2017  "Free Computer Coaching Classes and Mobile Training" Today the Post Graduate Department of Computer Science and NSS Unit of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana has started the "Free Computer Coaching Classes and Mobile Training" for Senior Citizens in Old Age Home Sarbha Nagar, Ludhiana.
10 8 March 2018 International Women's Day Today Women Empowerment Cell in the Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana organized a Cultural Programme to Celebrate the "International Women's Day". 13 30 August 2018  Special Lecture on "Breast Cancer" JCI Unit of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana in the association with JCI Ludhiana Queens organised a Special Lecture on "Breast Cancer". 20 16 March 2019 IQAC of Gujaranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana organized a workshop on ‘Enhancing Quality Higher education: Innovative Practices’ IQAC of Gujaranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana organized a workshop on ‘Enhancing Quality Higher education: Innovative Practices’ under Faculty Development Programme. Dr. S. S. Johl, the Chancellor of Central University of Punjab, Bathinda presided over the workshop. Dr. Harish C. Sharma, Former Head, Department of History, G. N. D. U., Amritsar and Dr. Ganesh A. Hedge, Advisor, NAAC Bangalore, were Chief Speakers. The workshop started with Dr. S. P. Singh (Former Vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar), Honrary General Secretary, Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council formally welcoming the chief guest, the speakers and the faculty of GGN Khalsa College, GGN IMT, GGNIVS, and GGN Khalsa College of Pharmacy & GGN Public School. Dr. Hargunjot Kaur, Coordinator, IQAC shared the previous inspections recommendations and also shared whatever steps had already been taken to increase the quality of education in the college. Dr. Hedge gave power point presentation in which he talked about the quality in Higher Education and the advanced technologies that are being used to upgrade the same. Dr Hedge insisted that focus has now shifted more to student support and progression, governance and leadership. He sensitized the faculty to issues on inclusion, collaborative and independent learning and nurturing generic competencies. Dr. Harish Sharma gave an insightful lecture on the new recommendations and criteria now applicable on colleges &universities. There was an interactive session with the faculty members asking various questions to the experts to clear their doubts regarding the new rules of NAAC regarding various criteria’s. The presidential remarks were delivered by Dr. S.S. Johl. Dr Johl stressed on special efforts to bring in students from special categories. He also made mention of continuing performance, monitoring and appraisal of the students by the teachers. He said focus should be on transparent efficient and objective examination system. Both Dr. G. Hegde & Dr. Harish Sharma applauded the progress & achievement of the college and congratulated the staff, Principle for their achievement. Principal Dr. Arvinder Singh proposed a vote of thanks to all present and highlighted the achievements of college in the recent past like opening of UGC sponsored B.Voc & Community College courses and installation of Solar Power Panel. He insured that each department defines learning outcomes of programs and monitors their outcomes. He said that efforts are being made to upgrade the knowledge and skills of various stake holders involved at various levels of the programs in the college. S. 21 20 April 2019 One Day NAAC Sponsored National Seminar on "Enhancing Quality in Higher Education: Innovative Practices One Day NAAC Sponsored National Seminar on "Enhancing Quality in Higher Education: Innovative Practices" was organized by IQAC of G.G.N. Khalsa College. Dr. R.S.Bawa, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Chandigarh University, Mohali presided over the seminar. Dr. Kuldip Puri, Professor, School of Open Learning, P.U. Chandigarh delivered the keynote address Dr. Vivek Kohli, resource person of the seminar gave insights into the malfunctioning of higher education system, Principal Sohan Lal DAV College of Education, Ambala was the resource person. Dr. L.S. Gill, Deputy Director, DPI College, Mohali was the Guest of Honour. The seminar began with Dr. S. P. Singh (Former V.C. Chancellor GNDU, Amritsar) and Honorary General Secretary, Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council formally welcomed the Chief Guest and various other resource persons. Dr. S. P. Singh identified Education as an essential component in social and economic development of the country. He emphasized on need & significance of quality in higher education.
Dr. Kuldip Puri, in his keynote address stressed upon the role of higher education in empowering the youth for self-sustainability. He brought out challenges being faced in higher education and also suggested methods to improve the vision of higher education in India. Mentoring the present era of globalization & localization, he emphasized on using passion, will –power, perseverance, and persistence as resources.
Dr. Vivek Kohli in his discourse gave more emphasis on ways to improve the quality and efficiency & effectiveness in higher education. He talked in detail about transforming curriculum, converting private institutes into non-profit making institutes, improving industry, alumni’s influence for growth of the institutes. Dr. L.S. Gill, Deputy DPI talked about the efficacy in higher education institutions. He stressed on importance of IQAC, its primary aim to develop a consistent, catalytic action to improve academic and administrative performance of the institution. He also talked about the empowering women through education & employment. He talked about the role of education as education drives employment and leads to economic development. Dr. R.S. Bawa, V.C. Chandigarh University, Chandigarh, in his presidential remarks highlighted the importance and use of ICT based teaching learning process in higher education as one of the major objectives of IQAC. He said that ICT has become an indispensable part of our life & has greatly influenced practice & procedures of nearly all forms of endeavors with in education system. Dr. Arvinder Singh, Principal, G.G.N. Khalsa College, Ludhiana proposed a vote of thanks to all the dignitaries present. He informed that in the seminar about 60 research papers are presented in Technical Sessions. He congratulated the IQAC of the college on organizing the seminar successfully. Principal, Dr. Arvinder Singh thanked all the delegates for participating and added that the motive of organizing seminar was to provide platform to scholars to highlight various issues relating to higher education & its developments. On this occasion S. Gursharan Singh Narula, President, Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council & other members of Managing Committee S. Kuljeet Singh, S.Bhagwant Singh, S. Hardeep Singh were present. 22 30 July 2019 Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana and University of Wolverhampton, Wolverhampton (England), have entered an agreement for bringing out more opportunities for faculty members and students of both organisations, and to pursue research projects, seminars, faculty and students exchange programmes and to explore the career opportunities for Indian students in England. The University of Wolverhampton is one of the best university and emerging centre of higher education in the United Kingdom. Principal Dr. Arvinder Singh has told that this memorandum of understanding (MoU) will give necessary and much needed momentum to our commitment and efforts to provide quality education to our students. He duly acknowledged the pivotal role of Dr. Opinderjit Takhar, Director, Centre for Sikh and Panjabi Studies, University of Wolverhampton in the finalising the process of signing this MoU. The MoU is signed by College Principal Dr. Arvinder Singh and Mr. Geoff Layer, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, University of Wolverhampton. Dr. S. P Singh, former Vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and Honorary General Secretary of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council said that this MoU will be mutually beneficial for these two centres of higher education. He congratulated the college Principal Dr. Arvinder Singh, teaching and non-teaching staff members for this achievement. He also said that the purpose of this MoU is to cooperate on the development of and articulation of academic programming; and Development of other mutually beneficial programs; Organising joint conferences, workshops, seminars; Exchange of scholarly information particularly with regard to Punjabi and Sikh studies; Undertaking Joint Research Projects.

The seminar was Presided by Professor R. S. Bawa, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of University of Chandigarh. The Keynote address was delivered by Dr. Kuldip Puri, Professor University School of Open Learning, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Dr. L. S. 25 02 Nov 2019 National Seminar on ‘Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Teachings’ Organized by Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council (GKEC) National Seminar was organized by Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council and its various institutions namely , Gujranwala Guru NanakKhalsa College (GGN Khalsa College),Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Vocational Studies (GGNIVS),Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT),Gujranwala Guru Nanak Public School(GGN Public school) and Gujranwala Guru Nanak College of Pharmacy (GGN pharmacy college) on the occasion of 550th birth anniversry of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on the topic : “Relevance of Guru Nanak teachings in 21st century”.The seminar was headed by Rajya Sabha Member S.Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa. In the beginning,Dr S.P. Singh,General Secretary, Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council(GKEC) and Former Vice Chancellor, GNDU, Amritsar welcomed the guests and shared his views regarding theseminar. S. Tirlochan Singh, Chairman, National Minority Commission,New Delhi presented theinaugural address and said that it is very important to understand the true essence of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings. He mentioned that initiatives should be takenfor an enhanced comprehension of teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji for the well-being of human kind and for establishing world peace. On this occasion book written by the Principal, GGN Khalsa College, Ludhdiana Dr. Arvinder Singh on Guru Nanak Dev Ji was unveiled. On this occasion, Prof. Sarabjinder Singh from Punjabi University, Patiala shed light on the contribution of Guru ji in social well-being with various historic evidences.He stated that Guru Nanak Dev ji is accredited for taking numerous revolutionary steps for the social well-being of mankind. Prof.Harbhajan Singh Bhatia from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar explained the role of Guru Nanak Dev Ji in establishing unity and peace in the society. Prof Manish from DeshBandhuCollege,New Delhi highlighted ‘women empowerment’, ‘human rights’ and ‘freedom in religion’ as the few fundamental teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. S Manmohan Singh, Director Prime TV(Canada) made an appeal to the youth to imbibe the Guru Ji’s didactics for a more rewarding life. He also motivated them to indulge in social work for a more satisfying existence. Prof. Balkar Singh from Punjabi University, Patiala stressed upon adopting the teaching of Guru Nanak Dev Ji by the people of all castes,religions and cultures. S Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa,Member, Rajya Sabha congratulated the GKEC for organizing such an enlightening seminar. He further said that the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji are a ray of hope for the humanity as by adopting them whole heartedly, we could develop a society where freedom,equality,justice and brotherhood would prevail.
26 02 Nov 2019 Inauguration of ‘Guru Nanak Bageechi’ Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, marking the 550 th Birth Anniversary celebration of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru Nanak Bageechi was inaugurated. The purpose of this bageechi is to make the students aware of the clean and green surroundings. It conveys a message of Guru ji that the Almighty resides in the nature that is the abode of the sacred Lord.

It had made extensive use of WEBEX, Google Classroom and WhatsApp for the efficient delivery of the lectures, assignments and assessments. The themes that were touched during the workshop; Barrier of Soft Skills for Landed Immigrants, Empowering Students with Effective Communication Skills for Personal and Professional Development, and Nitty Gritty English: From Bowling Talk to Tennis Talk-An Interactive Approach to Speaking Enhancing Communicative Competence
29 May 21-22, 2020 Two-Day National Symposium on Indian Education: COVID-19 Impact, Challenges and Opportunities The event had covered almost all the aspects related to education system, the challenges and opportunities which would be brought out during COVID-19 pandemic. It was highlighted time and again that the technology can only supplement a teacher but can never be its replacement. The online modules of pursuing various courses were discussed, like; ARPIT, SWAYAM, MOOC, etc. It was conclude that a good teacher must be a good facilitator as it is the era of blended learning where the learners are to be in center and not the teacher.
30 Jun 03- Jun 05, 2020 Three-day National Conference on Financial Implications of COVID-19 on India with Special Reference to Punjab The three days long conference had included and covered almost all the economic aspects related to the economy of Punjab. It had emphasized on the importance of providing digital marketing for selling essential products to the consumers. One of the resource persons had focused on Rs. 20 lakh crore economic packages announced by the prime minister for revival of economy and also supported the Atamnirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan of the government. The issue of palpable unrest of rural people of Punjab was raised which included rural labourers, the poultry sector as well as police treatment of the masses amid the lockdown. Certain measures like one-time (loan) restructuring, additional institutional funding, waiver of penal interest, policy innovations for triggering consumer demand, controlling cartelisation of raw material and changing criterion of affordability for GST applicability to help the industrial sector were emphasized upon.
31 Jun 07- Jun 08, 2020 Two-day International Symposium on Religious Tourism: Historic Sikh Shrines The main focus of the event was on the Sikh Gurudwara Saheb situated in various regions, like; Pakistan, and India. It was observed that the initiative taken by the college was actually a task of the Tourism department. If the tourism department does not perform its duty well then a lot of shrines, Gurudwaras, religious places related to Sikh history would soon be forgotten.
