PG Department of Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry is one of the oldest departments of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana established in 1953 and since then we are successfully running an undergraduate programme (BSc Non-Medical) with Chemistry as core subject. Later, in 2017, the department introduced post-graduation in chemistry. The Post-Graduate Department has highly qualified and dedicated faculty for imparting high-quality, interactive and participatory teaching. The students have access to a library where a large collection of international and national reputed journals and textbooks are housed. Besides this, the department has a state-of-art instrumentation facility and laboratory infrastructure for conducting scientific projects and experiments for graduate and postgraduate classes. We have an adequate number of spacious classrooms and smart classrooms to impart quality education.

The Post-Graduate Department of Chemistry has organised many extension lectures, webinars, symposia, national and international conferences on emerging trends in chemical sciences. We take extra effort in inoculating scientific temperament in cutting-edge thrust areas of Science by organising Science Fair, Quiz, Model making, Poster making, Industrial trips etc for graduate and post-graduate students to encourage them to think out of box, as a result large number of students are well placed and pursue higher studies and research every year in India and abroad.
During the last 5 years, the department has published around thirty five research papers in reputed journals and also published two ISBN indexed books on conference proceedings.
