Music Club

Music Club of the college was established in the year 1988. The main aim of the Music Club is to stimulate the highest degree of human aspiration and artistic honesty through the composition, recording and performance of music. The purpose of this club is to improve the interpretation of music as a cultural language in an empirical, imaginative, and intuitive way. The students are provided with opportunities for cultural and aesthetic experiences, develop their understanding and appreciation of the arts, and encourage engagement between music and the liberal arts through active involvement in music.

Objectives
  • To cultivate the campus and the area through concerts, seminars, and other public activities, and provide students, faculty, guest artists and members of the community with opportunities for traditional and contemporary musical expression..
  • To enable the students to express their feelings, ideas, experiences, and beliefs in a variety of ways and improve coordination, flexibility, agility, strength, and fine motor skills.
  • To develop the interrelated skills of performing, composing, and appreciating music and promote diversity between our faculty and students.

Well- known artists in the Punjabi music industry are the alumni of this college. The students of the music club have been winning various prizes at zonal and inter-zonal youth festivals. The college hosts various cultural events like Sur- Saanjh, Talent Hunt, Promotional Events etc. from time to time. The students of the club also participate in various heritage and folk events such as: Vaar- Kavishri, Kali , Geet, Gazal etc. Apart from music activities, the club also promotes folk dance like MalwaiGiddha.
